Lowercase “m”
Invisible me -
A ghost in the margins,
I’m nobody.
The footnote, the afterthought
I fold myself small -
My voice doesn’t echo,
I’m no one at all.
I pour myself empty,So others can fill -I bend til I break
And forget my own will.
I feed all their hungers,I answer their whims -
But silence my own songs
Before they begin.
My worth is unspoken,
My silence is loud -
While their capital letters
Shout to the crowd.
Let them keep shining,I’ll fade quietly -Forgotten, unwanted,Just lowercase me.
